On Life and Twitter

I am addicted to Twitter. I absolutely love it.

I've had a lot of people ask me "Why would you want the whole world to know what you're doing?" But it's not like that. Anything I don't want the whole world to know I don't have to update. It's not like I'm forced to tweet everything I'm doing. And it's not like I update about things people don't need to know (for the most part at least). Yeah I'll update boring stuff like "I'm doing homework" or "I just vacuumed the apartment" but for the majority of my entries they're really random thoughts.

I love Twitter for giving me an outlet to update any random little thought that comes to my head no matter where I'm at (unless I don't have a cell signal/internet). And I mean I can have some really random thoughts.

I love Twitter because it helps me keep in touch with people. For the people back home who wonder what I'm doing while in Chicago (cause trust me I don't update Facebook or Myspace or my blog very much). I know both of my parents check my Twitter daily to see what I'm up to (creepers! Haha kidding).

And I've met so many amazing and interesting people through Twitter. Met a lot of cool people from Myrtle Beach, met people from Chicago, from all around the world. People who I can network with, people who have offered me help when I need it (a doctor offering to see me about my headaches if I'm ever nearby, someone who took pictures of pages of a textbook I needed for homework while I was still waiting to get mine, people who offer uplifting words whenever I'm feeling down).

Twitter allows me to document my life as it happens if I want. I can upload pictures of whatever awesome (or boring) thing I'm doing or seeing, things I might not remember years down the road if I don't write it down. And what is life but memories?
